Tucked in at the foot of Mount Brandon on the northern coast of the Dingle Peninsula is the Cloghane Brandon area, part of the region known as Letteragh (An Leith Triúigh).
A stunning coastal road joins the two small villages of Cloghane, (An Clochán – meaning the stone building, or the stepping stone), a picturesque small village of stone houses overlooking the Owenmore estuary; and Brandon (Cé Bhréanainn) a small fishing village, overlooking Brandon Bay, with a quay still used by local fishermen.
Beyond Brandon, the road brings you to Brandon Point (Srón Bhroin) with extraordinary views over Brandon Bay, The Maharees Islands, the Slieve Mish mountains and across Tralee Bay to the beaches and hills of North Kerry.
